Caron’s intensive assessment program, which typically lasts 5 days, includes neuropsychological testing and a team of professionals working together to get your teen on the right path. The assessment is designed to rule in or rule out a diagnosis of chemical dependency.
Your teen will stay at Caron during the assessment, which allows Caron to evaluate your teen without outside influences such as peers and family conflict. An assessment of this type done on an outpatient basis will typically require several different providers and several months to complete.
At the end of the assessment, your family will receive a verbal summary report specific to your teen. The report will include the results of the neuropsychological testing as well as a history and physical. The psychologist who oversaw your teen’s testing as well as the therapist who worked with your teen will meet with your family to review the results, answer your questions and make a recommendation for the appropriate care.
